광물 원석은 오랜 시간을 거쳐 쌓이고 쌓여서 불규칙한 모양과 다양한 물질이 섞여 지금의 형태를 가지게 된다. 사람의 기억 또한 순간 순간의 흐름에 따라 기억이 쌓이고 서로 영향을 주기도 하며 현재의 기억을 이루고 또 변하기도 한다. 그래서 원석과 기억이라는 두개의 키워드의 결합으로 프로젝트를 진행하였다. 나는 주로 image develop을 통해 material study를 하고 그것을 텍스타일 디자인으로 적용해보았다.
Mineral gemstone attains its present form with an irregular shape by accumulation through ages and mixing diverse materials. Human memory is similar; depending on the flow of each moment, memories accumulate or affect each other to form the present memories, which can also change. Therefore I carried out this project by combining the two keywords ‘gemstone’ and ‘memory’. I mainly did the material study through image development and applied the result to textile design.
다듬어지지 않은 원석과도 같은 기억은 시간이 흐름에 따라 나의 머릿속에서 변하기도 하고, 녹아 내리기도 하고, 서로 섞이기도 한다. 무의식과 의식, 나의 내면세계를 다양하게 채우고 있는 기억은 마치 우주의 수 많은 별들과 같다. 기억과 감정들이 쌓이고 그 중 몇몇 추억들은 나에게 특별한 원석처럼 다가온다. 시간은 계속 흐르고 기억은 변하기 때문에, 그 순간의 소중한 기억들을 잊지 않기 위해 기억을 박제하는 것으로 표현하였다.
Many memories and emotions accumulate, and some of the memories come to me as special gemstones. As time continues to flow and memories change, I made an expression of stuffing the memories in order not to forget the precious memories of the past moments.

우리 머릿속의 기억공간은 어쩌면 그 안에 색이 가득 채워지길 기다리는 하얀 공간 일지도 모른다. 그 깨끗하고 순수한 공간에 기억이 쌓이며 모아지고 섞이고 흩어지는 모습을 표현하기 위해 사람의 바디라인을 따라 기억의 조각들이 흐르도록 디자인해보았다.
Perhaps the memory space in our heads is white space, waiting for colours to fill it completely. To express how memories accumulate, aggregate, get mixed and scattered in that clean and pure space, I designed such memory pieces flows along with the silhouette of a human body.
